On October 10, 2020 Joaquin Buckley fought Impa Kasanganay at UFC Fight Night 179. In Round 2 Buckley threw a Head Kick from the Southpaw stance, Kasanganay caught the kick with his left hand and instead of firing a RC counter right away he held on to Buckley’s left leg for a second too long. Buckley pivots his right foot while on one leg, turns his body sideways to Kasangany, jumps up and lands a brutal turning back kick to the face of Kasangany completely putting Kasangany’s lights out. It’s one of the best KO’s you will ever see. There was a lot of talk about it being “the best KO” ever in the UFC but for me I have a hard time making a blanket statement like that. As Joaquin Buckley was giving a post-fight interview Dana White walked up to him and they had a great back and forth as White told him how the kick was going viral.
